Improved safety and protection of port waters

Still this year, modern rescue and measurement equipment is going to be delivered to the Port Fire Service. This will help the ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście increasing safety and security of port waters. The equipment is provided under the project of ‘Purchasing measurement and rescue equipment by the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority’.

First LNG carrier in the outer port in Świnoujście

On 11th December 20105 the first vessel with delivery of liquefied natural gas moored the brand new quay in the outer port in Świnoujście. M/v “Al Nuaman" delivered approx. 210 thousand cubic meters of LNG dedicated to cool and startup the installation.

The first in the new EU programming period

The first investment project funded from the CEF budget of 2014 - 2020 in a Polish port is to be implemented as a part of the Świnoujście – Trelleborg Motorway of the Sea.

An imposing ferry berth opens in Świnoujście

Przecięcie wstęgi An imposing investment at a ferry terminal in Świnoujście involving the construction of a ferry berthing facility has been completed. Now, Świnoujście can handle large ferries of maximum length 220 m and the largest cruisers that may enter the Baltic Sea. The official opening of the berth was held on 28th October this year.

The Jubilee Gala 2015

On 6th October, in the Szczecin Philharmonics, with the presence of distinguished guests, representatives of the central, regional and local governments, including the city, as well as a number of institutions, companies from the sector and representatives of the science, the Jubilee Gala was held on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Polish management of Szczecin and Świnoujście seaports. The celebration was honored by the presence of Jerzy Pietrewicz, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Dorota Pyć, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Development, Marek Tałasiewicz, the Governor, Jarosław Rzepa, the Deputy Marshal of Western Pomerania Region, and Piotr Krzystek, the Mayor of Szczecin.

A modern logistic center to be developed soon in the Szczecin seaport

Waimea Logistic Park 1 Sp. z o.o., a member of the Waimea Holding S.A., is going to build a modern Waimea Logistic Park – Port Morski Szczecin in the Szczecin seaport.

Polish–German cross border cooperation

The Forum on the Polish-German cross border cooperation highlighting the influence of the Szczecin-Świnoujście seaports on neighboring German regions was held on the premises of the Ports Authority in September this year. The goal of the forum was to exchange information and define needs and expectations of German companies interested in establishing their business in the Szczecin seaport and its vicinity.

The Ewa Silo has new investor

On 26th August this year the Ewa Silo gained a new investor. A contract has been signed by the Board of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority and Copenhagen Merchants Holding A/S, Denmark. The selection of a new lessee for the facility concluded the tender procedure.

A new quay in the Szczecin seaport

On Tuesday, 9th June this year, in the Szczecin seaport, the new Niemieckie quay was officially open. The ribbon cutting ceremony involved Piotr Krzystek, the Mayor of Szczecin, Janusz Żmurkiewicz, the Mayor of Świnoujście, as well as Dr Zbigniew Miklewicz, CEO for the port, and his deputies Paweł Adamarek and Krzysztof Sadowski. The ceremony also attracted Simon Rodian Christensen from Copenhagen Merchants, the new lessee of the Ewa Silo.
