Seagoing tourists again in Szczecin

Cruiser m/v DISCOVERY is yet another seagoing cruiser to visit the Szczecin-Świnoujście Seaports this season. Previously, m/v AMADEA called at Szczecin and m/v MSC LIRICA at Świnoujście. The latter is so far the largest cruiser to visit the port complex of Szczecin-Świnoujście.

On 9th July this year, m/v DISCOVERY will moor at the Polskie Quay and just like other seagoing cruisers it is going to be seen from as far as Wały Chrobrego Street.
The ship (170 m in length, 25 m in width and 7.5 m in draught) will be sailing from Gdynia, and is expected at the Świnoujście roadstead around 3:00 a.m. It should call at the Szczecin Seaport at 7:00 a.m. and will stay there until 21:30. In the evening, it will set out for the port of Sassnitz, Germany.
Another visit of the cruiser is expected still this year. The ship should visit us again on 14th September.
In the 2012 season, the ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście expect 6 calls of seagoing cruisers. Apart from today's visit, Szczecin is going to welcome m/v ALBATROS (31 July) and m/v DELPHIN (15th August).
Thanks to convenient inland waterway links to Western Europe, Szczecin has been a destination for cruisers for many years now. This season, from March to October, 84 such calls have been notified. These are going to be vessels registered under the flag of Switzerland, Germany and France. This year, Szczecin and Świnoujście will welcome m/s Frederic Chopin, m/s Johannes Brahms, m/s Katharina von Bora, m/s Mona Lisa, m/s Sans Souci, m/s Excellence Coral, m/s Victor Hugo, m/s Saxonia and m/s Princess.
