The Port after Transport Logistic China 2008

The Port of Szczecin – Swinoujscie presented its logistic and investment opportunities at Transport Logistic China 2008 in Shanghai. It is one of the most important fairs in Asia. Every second year, the venue of the fair is either Shanghai, China, or Munich, Germany. This year, the fair attracted about thirty percent more exhibitors than two years ego.

The Port of Szczecin – Swinoujscie had a joint stand together with the Gdansk Seaport Authority.
Many countries set up their national stands. The largest exhibitor was Germany with impressive stands for ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven.

Stands set by Italian regions of Friuli and Venice were particularly interesting. They separately presented the same logistic idea of shortening the route and transport time for containers going from Asia to Europe by servicing them in ports of Northern Adriatic, namely Trieste and Venice. The concept is in line with the idea proposed by the Port of Szczecin – Swinoujscie in the Adriatic – Baltic Landbridge  Project. The idea is base don servicing containers from Asia in Italian ports and then transporting them by block trains to container terminals in Szczecin and Świnoujście, Poland, and their further transport to Scandinavian clients. Another fair is to be held in 2010.
