This time a seagoing cruiser in Szczecin

M/v AMADEA is the second seagoing cruiser to call at the Szczecin-Świnoujście Seaports this season, since during the long weekend in May the Port of Świnoujście welcomed m/v MSC LIRICA.

This time a seagoing cruiser will visit the port of Szczecin. On 28th June this year m/v AMADEA will moor at the Polskie Quay and will be seen from as far as Wały Chrobrego Street.

The owner of the ship (190 m in length, 25 m in width and 7.1 m in draught) is Phoenix Reisen, a German operator. The cruiser will be sailing from Klaipeda and is expected at the Świnoujście roadstead around 5:15 a.m. It should reach the port of Szczecin at 10:00 a.m. and stay there for six hours. On the same day, it will set out for the port of Heiligenhafen, Germany.

It is yet another visit of a cruiser to our city.

In the 2012 season, ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście expect 6 calls of seagoing cruisers. Apart from today's visit, Szczecin is going to welcome m/v DISCOVERY (9 July and 14 September), m/v ALBATROS (31 July) and m/v DELPHIN (15 August). In May, m/v MSC LIRICA visited Świnoujście.

Thanks to convenient inland waterway links to Western Europe, Szczecin has been a destination for cruisers for many years now. This season, from March to October, 84 such calls have been notified. These are going to be vessels registered under the flag of Switzerland, Germany and France. This year, Szczecin and Świnoujście will welcome m/s Frederic Chopin, m/s Johannes Brahms, m/s Katharina von Bora, m/s Mona Lisa, m/s Sans Souci, m/s Excellence Coral, m/s Victor Hugo, m/s Saxonia and m/s Princess.
